Opposition of Two Nation theory

In 1940, Muhammad Ali Jinnah demanded separate state while introducing the idea of Two-Nation Theory.
This idea was absolutely repugnant to the Jamiat since it violated the very foundational tenet of united nationalism. The Jamiat also held the view that the partition would be harmful to those Muslims who remained in India after such a division. Maulana Husain Ahmad Madani and other leaders campaigned extensively against the divisive tactics of the League despite constant threats of physical violence from League activists.
The idea of composite nationalism has gained famous theory based on Maulana Madani’s theory of united nationalism, as expounded in the book Muttahidat Qawmiyyat awr Islam (United Nationalism and Islam, 1938). In the book, Maulana Madani advanced the concept of ‘territorial nationhood’ arguing that it is ‘not necessary that a nation, to be a nation, should share the same religion and culture’ since today ‘nations are made by homelands’. Maulana Madani’s book wasn’t simply a critique of separatism; it was an integral part of the Jamiat worldview since its inception in 1919. And the 100-year-old organization still sticks to its core worldview.
